Greetings ;) Im planning a trip to the peak district, and thought of passing through Winnats, I been told to go to Dovedale instead, but something draws me to winnats, what would you do ;)

Hi there. Dovedale is a classic Peak District destination and I'm sure that either of them will be great. There are far more photo opportunities at Dovedale, such as rivers, woodland and waterfalls. You're very low in the Peak District though, so you don't really get a feel for it. You need to go further up following the trail through Matlock, Bakewell and Hathersage if you want to see the raw side of the Peak District. I guess it all depends on what you want to do.

well, I never been up that way at all, but after reading a little about Winnats, i am intrigued to get up there and photograph the pass at sunset and then again at sunrise, purely for the paranormal stories abound about it of the woman and three miners. So i shall start there, I am heading up to Hathersgate after that as well, and then on my way down, i will see if i can do a quick drive through in Dovesdale, thanks for the help man, Really appreciate it.... check back here by tuesday, hopefully I have something to show for my journey ;)
